Chance me please- USC, Tulane, UW-Madison, UMich, and UMN- Twin Cities

USC, Tulane, UW-Madison, UMich, and UMN- Twin Cities

Business for all

Really strong legacy at UMN- Twin Cities (both parents, aunts, uncles, grandpa teaches there and went there).

GPA- 3.45
ACT- 31 (32 superscore)
5 AP classes
9 honors

AP World- 4
AP Macro- 3
AP Micro- 3
AP Euro- 4
AP Bio- 3
AP US Gov/Politics- 4 (self study)
AP Comparative Gov/Politics- 4 (self study)

I go to a small secular prep school, in MN, that does not rank. AP class number would be higher, but my school stopped offering most APs senior year.

Recommendations should be very strong.

I was told I had good essays, but I’m unsure.

EC’s

Speech- 9,10,11,12 (captain and went to state three times where I placed)
Swim Team 10,11,12 (only founded in 10th grade. I served as captain 10,11,12th grade)
Cross Country- 9,10,11,12
Track- 9,11,12
Student council- 12
Intern on congressional campaign
Founded baking club at my school
Lots of volunteer hours (I won an award in 10th grade)
Junior Rotarian

Awards:
Volunteer award- 10
AP Scholar with Honor- 10,11
Some speech team award.

Will be strong EC’s and ACT be enough, or will my low GPA hurt me too much?

UMN-TC should be a match, while UMich (the other U of M) would be a reach due to the low GPA and mediocre ACT (no superscoring there).

UWisc would be a high match to low reach. Your ACT is fine for there but the GPA is below admission average.

Which USC are you referring to?

gpa will kill u, but umn forsure will accept, uw maybe, the rest no

USC- Southern California

Then USC is a reach too.
