I'm currently a senior from a high school in Brooklyn, New York. What are my chances of getting into Bing? What about their honors program, if they have one.

GPA - 95.67 weighted

Rank - 40 out of 844 seniors

SAT I (took once) - 560 CR , 720 MATH , 650 WRITING

SAT II's - 720 Math 1, 610 Math 2

Took 2 AP's my junior year.

All of my classes were gifted because i was in the Prestigious Medical Science Program in my school. I also had a few honors classes.

Taking AP BC Calculus , Gifted U.S. Government, and Gifted English this year.

Extracurricular Activities:
JV Football Team - freshman year
Swimming Team - sophomore - senior year
Key Club - junior year
Volunteered at a hospital for about 30 hours
Worked and volunteered at a nursing home for 3 summers in a row

Your stats are great and you have a good shot depending on the school your applying to within Bing. You could have taken more APs or whatever but I think you’ll have a good chance.

As for an honors college, Bing doesn’t have an honors college. The Binghamton Scholars Program is sort of like that but it only takes 40 freshman each year (applicants with exceptional stats, especially SATs). It’s a small and not that well known program.

However, it is possible to earn honors within your major (depends on the major) as well as join honor societies for specific disciplines as well as general academic excellence. Phi Eta Sigma is a freshman honor society (you are inducted based on freshman year grades in soph. year) and Phi Kappa Phi is a general honor society for all disciplines’ juniors and seniors. There is a Phi Beta Kappa chapter as well as a transfer honor society (over a certain GPA your first semester at Bing).
