Chance Me Please?

Hey guys, sorry if you guys get annoyed with these 'chance me' threads.
I visited Bing this past mid-winter break, stayed for a week and a half and I loved it there.

So I would really like to know my chances for Bing.

My stats are:

Around a 84~85 average
Math: 630
Critical Reading: 510
Writing: 570
Essay: 9

I think I wrote a great essay, people told me this also and about 10 different people helped me edit.

I'm pretty sure I have a good recommendation.

I have a pretty good list of EC's that I did from freshman to senior year.
Varsity Golf Captain
Varsity Wrestling
Church Fellowship
Church Ministry Team Leader
Summer Day Camp Volunteer
Summer Day Camp Counselor
and some other ones

I applied to the Harpurs Arts & Science.

I really hope I can get in.

Here are some schools I got into already:
- SUNY Stony Brook
- SUNY Albany
- SUNY New Paltz
- CUNY Baruch
- St. John's University
- Drexel University

My daughter's current stats are a tiny bit higher, she does similar ECs and her school's Naviance scattergram showed she had a 25% chance at Bing (that's based on prior applicants last two years from her hs) Congrats on the other acceptances! You have a lot of good options!

I think you have a slight chance, especially if you stayed there and met some of the admissions people

Although your GPA and standardized tests scores are on the low side for Binghamton, they were for Stony Brook and New Paltz as well and you obviously impressed their admissions officers. Your ECs, recommendations and essay could tip the balance in your favor again. Good luck to you.

I would say if you got into Stony Brook, you have a decent shot at Binghamton.

Perfectxchaos, I'd have to disagree with you .. as seen on my school's list of all student's college acceptances, nearly no students were accepted into Binghamton with below 85 average, whilst students in the mid 70s-85s easily got into Stony Brook. Also, EC's and essay count for Binghamton, but Stony doesn't even require a supplement.

My stats were a little bit higher than yours, but I bet you still have a pretty good chance :)

Nickguh - I'm starting to notice that too. I always thought of SB being more competitive than it actually is. I think it's just more well known than Binghamton outside New York State... although I'm not sure how true that is anymore.

^stony brook is competitive I think but many of the kids aren't happy with it...my cousin (alum.) included. He got a really good job and everything but he says he hated SBU as a university

Fzr - That's what I've heard.

i'm not too good with the chancing thing, but congratulations on your acceptances! i think no matter what, you have some great options available to you already. :)
