chance me please?

I am a junior in HS and I am still looking at a wide variety of schools, but Swarthmore is definitely high on my list. Others are: Davidson, Colorado College, George Washington, Northwestern, Yale, Brown (both BIG reaches)

SAT 1950 (taken at the beginning of soph year and i'm taking it again)
SAT II: World History 770
PSAT 207 (this year) 98th percentile
ACT 30

weighted GPA is around 104
class rank 6/300 (and most likely rising)

I have the hardest course load of anyone in my grade this year- 5 AP classes (euro, bio, spanish, english, us history)
2 APs last year - WHAP (5) and Human Geo (5)

NJHS president 9th
NHS 10th-11th

4 years of foreign language and I'm in AP this year
This summer I will be living in Spain for a month and studying

Band 9th-11th and section leader this year & next
UIL academics (competition in spring)
Spanish Club
Volleyball 9th

Captain of 4H team 10th

I live in texas and i won't qualify for any financial aid.

In terms of selectivity, Swarthmore is actually more up there with Yale than with your other listed choices (althought the acceptance rate is about 16%, compared to Yale’s 8-9% or so, S. applicants are a more homogeneously intellectual/academic group). I would advise getting your SAT’s up (Swarthmore medians are the same as Stanford’s, for example). Otherwise your record looks solid: at Swat, knowing why you want to go there and conveying that effectively in your essay will also be important. The school is not just a smaller version of Harvard, nor even another clone of Amherst or Williams, and admissions people care that you know and value that. Good luck!

thank you for the advice. i appreciate it!
