Chance me please?

Basically, Junior year's almost over [a few more weeks!] and I'm starting to wonder what colleges I should apply to, which ones would accept me, etc.

TESTING;
- SAT1: 2240, CR + Math = 1490 [pretty sure I'm not retaking]
- SAT2: 800 Math 2, and I'm planning on taking Bio in June
- I also might take the ACT after summer break, but I'm not sure how well I'll do on that.

AP CLASSES/TESTS;
- Junior Year: APLAC, Bio, Calc AB, and Chinese
- Senior Year: Physics, Stats, and Gov [or Lit instead of Physics]

GRADES;
Freshman Year
- All A's all 7 classes
Sophomore Year
- Semester 1: 2 A's and 1 B in honors, 3 A's in regular classes
- Semester 2: 2 A's and 1 B in honors, 2 A's and 1 B in regular classes
Junior Year
- Semester 1: 3 A's and 1 B in AP's, 2 A's in reg classes
- Semester 2 (Based on my assumptions): 3 A's and 1 B in AP's, 2 A's in reg classes

EXTRACURRICULARS;
- 90 hours of volunteer at a children's museum
- 2-3 years in Robotics (including next year)
- 2 years in Science Club (including next year)
- 2 years in Interact
- 1 year in JV Badminton [99% chance of varsity next year]
- 4 years choir [starting from middle school]
- 12 years of art; I'm probably submitting an art portfolio as a supplemental
- 12 years of piano; passed CM 10 [highest besides panel]
- Internship over the summer at a biotech company [sophomore year]
- Either summer research, intern, or job over the summer this year

OTHER INFO;
- My school is a top 250 public high school based on the list compiled/printed by Newsweek [2010 edition]
- I live in California
- My school doesn't provide many AP/Honors courses, hence the few number I'm taking

Chance me for the following schools?
[the number next to them is the # of people from my school going there from class of 2011; probably more were admitted to these schools]
- UC Berkeley: 43
- UC Davis: 28
- UCLA: 11
- UCSD: 17
- USC: 9

My mom is also under the impression that I can get into Yale [3], which I seriously doubt, but chance me there anyway please. (:

It'd also be nice if you could give me some other schools to look in to. (:
Thanks everyone!

I swear some of these postings depress me on my chances (I feel so inadequate), I would expect you get into all of the UC system schools especially coming from in state. As for the Ivys from what I hear its a crapshoot to get in: thousands of brilliant applications, yet so few spots. However, your SAT is at the 50% mark for Yale, so I’d think you might have a chance.

As for other schools, I’m assuming by your ECs and schedule your a STEM (Science, Tech, engineering, and math) kind of person (unlike me). So, I’d recommend on the east coast Vanderbilt (great engineering program I hear), Georgia Tech, MIT (tougher to get into though). If your not a STEM kind of person I’d recommend schools like Emory, those elite liberals arts colleges in the N.E. (Bowdoin, Amherst, Williams, Wesleyan), Georgetown

Best of Luck to you in your applications! (if you don’t mind chancing me I’d appreciate that)

Haha, same here. After I see all of the ECs and whatevers they have I feel like I won’t even be able to get into a college.
Anyway, thanks for your input! I’ll look into the colleges you suggested, but I’m not too sure about going to the east coast what with the huge climate difference. We’ll see though; maybe I’ll end up loving the snow and won’t be able to live without it.

Thanks, and you too!

Anyone else with inputs? (:

Agree with Gallen. Also, Carnegie Mellon and Rice might be worth a look too. Best of luck!

I think SD and Davis should be in for sure, USC and UCLA I would think you are for sure qualified and would also expect you to get in. Berkely I think you have a good shot. Yale the stats look a little weak and the EC’s, but who knows.

In everywhere except for possibly UC Berkeley and Yale, those are reaches, though you’ve still got a very good shot, especially at Berkeley, less do at Yale, as you’re “unhooked”. Emory might be a good school for you, so would Rice, University of Chicago, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, and Cornell.

Chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1152753-chance-rising-junior-diverse-list-off-vague-predictions-will-chance-back.html

LA and Berkeley are high matches, SD a match, Yale a reach (but you should still apply if you would consider going, you do have a chance), and pretty good chances everywhere else.
