Chance me, please!

Hi, my name is Michelle. I'm about to be a senior in high school and since I'm about to start applying to colleges, I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what my chances are for my potential college choices.

Scores:

GPA Freshman Year: 3.3
GPA Sophomore Year: 3.4
GPA Junior Year: 3.7
Cumulative GPA: 3.5

Senior Year Courses:
(Note: All classes at my school are honors. We do not rank. I go to a very small and rather competitive private school)

AP Stats, AP Art History, Spanish 6 Literature (highest level of Spanish at my school), Astronomy (1 trimester), Anatomy/Physiology (1 trimester), Economy (1 trimester), Mythology (1 trimester), English 12, and Choir.

Extra Curricular:
-Summer League Swim Team every summer since I was 5 (11 years)
-Varsity Swim Team for my school since my freshman year (3 years)
-I achieved All State Recognition each year and I will most likely be a team captain next year)
-Member of my school's choir since First Grade (11 years)
-Musicals:
-Les Miserables (Sophomore Year, chorus member)
-West Side Story (Junior Year, Jet girl)
-A Chorus Line (Senior Year, Bebe)
-I have performed with my school's choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City twice (once my Sophomore Year and once in eight grade when I was chosen out of the middle school along with 4 others.)
-I have participated in my school's Writing Center program where students tutor their peers in writing papers. (The application process for next year only allowed 12 members to join and I will have a leadership role.)
-I was appointed by my school to be on a panel of 3 other students to interview my school's new Director of Diversity candidates.

-I recently started working as a lifeguard for two different pools.

College List:

Safeties:
-UC Boulder
-Texas Christian University
-Baylor
-Trinity

Targets:
-Southern Methodist University
-UT Austin
-Santa Clara
-UC San Diego
-Pepperdine

Reaches:
-University of Southern California
-UC Los Angeles
-Stanford
-Vanderbilt

Please let me know which colleges you think I have the best chances at! I realize that Stanford and Vanderbilt are a bit of a long shot haha. Thanks for reading all of this!

Ok I’ll start with your safeties: I think you are in at all of them(as you expected lol)

I REALLY need to know the rigor of your course schedule at your high school and if your high school is very prestigious, so If you give that to me I will reevaluate you, but for now:

Im not sure what SMU stands for, at UT Austin I would give you a decent chance, same with Santa Clara(50-75%). UCSD is a reach for you I’m afraid, it is a very strong public school.

Now for the reaches:
Stanford, I’m afraid, cannot even be called a reach for you. I don’t want to say it impossible, but it probably is. It is an extremely hard school, harder than almost all of the ivies, except for HYP(and its equal to them).
USC, Vandy, and UCLA are all reaches.

You seem to know yourself pretty well but I can understand how you would want an outside opinion. If you add on your class rigor I might be able to change what I said. Good Luck! Chance back??? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1162465-chance-please-i-will-chance-back.html

Thanks for the reply. I have updated my info a bit. I know Stanford is pretty much impossible, but I’m applying just in case anyway. There’s also the possibility of swimming scholarships.

Yeah i think I pretty much stay the same with everything (Your rigor is kind of what I was expecting, a good amount of AP’s, but not an outstanding amount) I have said except Southern Methodist is more of a safety than a target and I think out of your reaches, the easiest will be USC. What state do you live in? If you live in Cali, UCSB might be more towards a safety

I live in Texas. Also at my school, there is not an AP class available for most of the classes. Like I said, all classes are honors and we’re not allowed to take more than 3 APs a year as it is. I am taking the highest level courses available to me at my school in my areas of interest.

I was also wondering how good my extra curriculars are?

Ok if you live in Texas, UT is probably more of a safety for you. Your EC’s are good, but they aren’t outstanding, at least on a Stanford scale. For your targets and especially your safeties they might be considered outstanding though.
