I applied ED to Wake, with a 30 ACT, a 3.2 UW GPA, and a 3.8 W GPA. White Male. I was a Natl. Merit Commended Scholar, received Cum Laude on Natl. Latin Exam F/S years, and Magna Cum Laude Jr. Year. Natl. English Honor Society, Varsity Wrestler 3 years, Varsity Lacrosse 2 years. Lots of Community Service. 2 APs last year (US History 4, Psych 5), and 4 AP's this year, with current grades 7 A's and 1 B. I also worked part time (10 hours a week) for 1 1/2 years. I interviewed at Wake, and think I did very well. Am really hoping to get in.

Got deferred EA. Very disappointed, but hoping to get in regular. GPA is low because I transferred after 2 years from a school where the regular (UW) classes in 9th/10th grade were not offered as Honors, but were harder than the Honors courses offered in 9/10 in my new school. Unfortunately, my ranking in the class is affected by all the kids at my transfer school who took those 9/10 Honors courses and got the A and the weighting. If anyone has any other thoughts, please post. Let me know my chances RD. Thanks.

Sorry. How were you informed of your deferral?

By letter. They want to see my senior year first semester grades. I’ve put in 5 more applications to other schools and we will see how it all ends up.

I wish they gave applicants a website to check our application status. But good luck man! Hope you get in.
