The questions were uniquely answered and I tried to include various aspects of my interest/personality :)

Please let me know what you think! I'm open to constructive criticism, so feel free to be entirely honest! Any suggestions are also welcome! (Sorry if I posted this in the wrong page). I know that Stanford is a bit different in their admissions process and doesn't always take the 2400's and such because they want uniqueness, so I wanted to know your opinions!

Thanks for your time!

LOL, what do YOU think your chances are? I love the analogy I read on one of the forums… it’s like a person with a 95% in the class asking if they are going to pass. Now, I’m not saying that Stanford will admit you, as Stanford definitely has its own set of criteria for admissions, but you are clearly “qualified”.

I’ve had pretty bad outcomes with the two early schools I applied to (nonrestrictive) so I’m trying to figure out what happened and what I can do in the short amount of time left haha  just suggestions from already-accepted candidates or anything :)

My guess would be your essays. Perhaps you lost “your voice” when someone else looked over it. Maybe your passion didn’t shine through. Maybe your passion wasn’t what those particular schools wanted. Reading through your list of accomplishments, I’m not even sure what your passion is (helping people?).

Were you able to choose just a few accomplishments to list or did you include the full laundry list? What do those accomplishments mean to you?

I really think you need to go back and re-evaulate your essays.

I chose a few accomplishments, mainly because I wanted to show that I dedicated the vast majority of my time to a couple of things. I focused on my involvement with the orphanage, public speaking activities, and briefly mentioned how I am involved in my cultural community.

I will surely go back to read the essays and try to see how I can maybe add more voice to it as you mentioned. Thanks so much, I didn’t think that that was possibly it until you pointed it out!

I think the one question that would remain from a school’s pov is “what are your academic interests?”.

I want to pursue International Business (I wrote that I’d like to work for the UN one day), so I was hoping that my math camp and the oversees volunteering + public speaking activities (MUN, Eurochallenge, etc) would tie into that theme, possibly? haha
