ahlyahly,
To be honest, I think you would be on the borderline of acceptance and rejection.
college admissions seem fairly random at times.
I had a 98.4/100 average in high school
Played tennis all 4 years
held school and statewide leadership positions (5 total)
wsa involved in 2 different volunteer clubs
took 11 AP courses
got a 2290 on the SATs
all 5s or 4s on the AP exams for the 11 APs
800, 790, 770 on 3 SAT IIs that I took,
and State Student of the Year, and many other awards

And I did not get into Boston College. So I think you got a good shot, but it can be random at times.

I think tonster is right. if admissions were logical, both of you would get in. But, that is not the case. Everybody who applies to BC is pretty smart, and many probably have similar credentials. (which are impressive by the way- both of you). At some point, admission offices are going to be looking at diversity- racial, religious, cultural, socioeconomic, geographic etc etc— most colleges like to brag about their diverse student bodies. I have known a couple of people who got accepted at BC but rejected at less competitive schools. I do think their quest for diversity upsets the logical apple cart when it comes to admissions. Tonster- BC’s loss. Where did you end up?
