I have a 3.7 unweighted GPA, 4.3 weighted. I’ve never taken any class lower than honors and have taken one AP with two more lined up for senior year. I have done at least 50 hours of community service every year of high school, and hold leadership roles in Model UN, the newspaper, and my youth group. I got a 1470 on the SAT but I’ve only taken it once so it might go up. I am looking specifically at Boston College-- does that kind of acceptance rate (34%) sound target for me?
Yes! You definitely have a great chance at Boston College. Volunteer work won’t look as impressive on your app, though, because it is mandatory, but leadership is what Boston College looks for in its applicants. Your SAT scores fall above average (1430), but if you’re really nervous, I’d recommend looking into SAT Subject tests. BC doesn’t require it but they say if you want to highlight a skill of yours it’s worth adding to your application. Good luck!
