Not to be a downer, but just a reality check. Almost everyone who applies to Duke has a 2000 or 2100 and above and an unweighted 3.9 or 4.0 gpa. So based on that alone, your scores just mean you are in the running in terms of numbers. It mainly comes down to essays, ECs and luck, pure dumb luck. Vaya con Dios!

Yeah, your numbers are essentially meaningless when they are the same as everyone elses. Not to mention, everyone elses are just as good, and msot are better. Dog eat dog world for the schools like Duke, Stanford and the ivies. In the Durham paper, the Duke admissions office was quoted on saying this years class was different because of “all of the community involvement they brought to the table”

People have gotten in with worse stats than that, and people have gotten rejected with better stats than that. As SouthernBelle said, luck has an impact.

Aim for a high SAT score; you’ll have higher chances that way.
It depends on what state you are from and what you do for extracurriculars, so none of us can really deliver fair judgment.

These scores are only scores. Help us get a better picture of you by listing your extracurriculars as you will need to for the Duke admissions commitee.
