Chance me please?

Hey guys! So I am an High school senior right now and was wondering if you all could give me advice on how to optimize my chances for getting in and the best scores needed to get in as well.

MY GPA is 3.86 and I am 130th out of 740 people.

I got a 1940 on the first SAT I took but I recently took another practice test and scored a 2180, don’t know if that matters.

I am taking the ACT in September and scored a 31 on the practice test I took, without even studying, I am aiming to get a 34 or higher.

I scored 750 on both of my SAT subject tests, Math 1 and Physics.

I am apart of Academic team, Key club, Chinese Club, Environmental Club and Octagon CLub. I also volunteered in my City to help restore certain areas of the city that are more run down. I have been doing this for the past few years and have done over 200 hours with it.

This coming year I am taking several AP classes and honors classes. I took two AP’s last year and an Honors class as well and ended with A’s and B’s.

I was seriously ill for half of Junior year and taught myself all my classes and it also hurt my scores on the SAT since I was not at all healthy.

I scored 3’s on my AP test due to the fact that I was still seriously ill when I took them but am better now!

Brown is one of my dream schools and I am hoping beyond hope that I will be able to get in. Please any advice would be appreciated!

P.S. I also make my own games in my spare time, I want to major in Computer Science. Also, if you need anything else, I would be happy to provide it, sorry for the wall of text!

Honestly your class rank, scores ECs etc all fall short of most of the admitted students. You obviously know you have to test better. I would suggest your best “improvements” would also be to take the most rigorous course load you can, get straight As in a way that both your teachers and guidance counselor can write recs that essentially say “this student had X problems in the past and has made a remarkable turn around etc.” This of course will help no matter where you apply. I would not recommend you apply ED anywhere unless it is nonbinding, and highly likely you would get in without the senior “improvement” you are going to make. (essentially a “semi-safety”/or wish reach that is nonbinding.)
PS there are tons of students who credit poor prior performance to serious illnesses such as mono or mood disorders etc. Unless you were extensively hospitalized, or something on that order, I wouldn’t expect much “sympathy” lee-way with the top tier schools. After all they have a number of applicants who were fighting cancer etc and still managed to keep up top grades. Sorry to sound harsh, but it’s a pretty brutal reality of stats of admission.

I did manage to keep my grades up, I have straight a’s and am an honors student. I am also taking a rather rigorous course road, the only thing major I’m not taking is AP physics because I know my limit. I am taking 3 APs this year and an honors class. Last year I took 2 APs and an honors class. My gpa actually went up to 3.93 and now I am in the top 11%. I have some ecs that I forgot to mention, I am starting a club, working with a political campaign, and I have also started my own business and published an app on the app store. I will also have fantastic recommendations from my math teacher and Chinese teacher who both know me incredibly well. There are probably a few more things I can’t remember but that is it or not…

The only thing that the sickness hurt were my standardized test scores.

Is there anything else that I could do? Also, will the things I mentioned help at all?
