Chance me please?

So I’ve been making a college list over the past few months and BU has been on my list for a while now, and I want to know if I even stand a chance of getting admitted.

I’m a junior in high school and currently I have an 86 GPA which equals about a 3.0 GPA. Umm I’m really striving for all A’s this year and I’m doing good so far, so I think I can do it and raise my GPA a lot. So far I’ve taken about 10 Honors classes and 3 APs and next year I’m planning to take 3 more AP classes, and not really sure about the honors since basically all our classes are honors. Speaking of which my high school is very competitive and its the 2nd in the state, its a magnet school, and its number 80 in the US (not sure if that’s good or not). I haven’t taken the SAT yet or the ACT, but I’m planning to take only the SAT and I’m aiming for a 2100 or higher. As for my EC’S I’ve been in in the SGA for 2 years so far and I plan to be in it next year. I 'm also in green club and hoping to start my own club soon (just have no idea what type of club it should be, I was thinking a community service club, but I would really appreciate suggestions if you have any). I’m also African-American and I’ll be a first generation college student, not sure if that helps my chances at all.

I know essays and supplements play a huge role in the admissions process as well, and I would consider myself a pretty good writer when it comes to essays. My AP English teacher is pretty tough and is whipping us into shape when it comes to writing, so I’m sure that will help a lot.

So after reading that huge chunk of info, what do you think? I know my GPA is sub-par and my EC’S may not be the greatest, but I hope I still have a shot.

And please be as honest as you can. If you think I don’t have a shot, then could you suggest any colleges that I would right into with my stats?

Thanks.

Not sure if I’ll be able to raise my GPA by .7 in one school year, but thanks for the reply anyway. :)
