Chance me please?

I’m just in my junior year, and would like to see if you guys think I have a chance at BU.

As of right now my GPA is a 3.625, because last semester messed me up, but I believe this semester will raise it up a little. Last year I took AP World History, however did not take the exam because I had a horrible teacher (really) and learned nothing and would not pass anyway. This year I am taking AP English and AP US History, and am taking both exams, expecting to do alright (hopefully). Next year I am taking AP Calculus, AP English Lit, and AP Physics. As far as ECs go I don’t have much, just 2 years of JV Volleyball. I’m in Medical Club, Literary Magazine and Junior Council. I’m starting volunteering at a hospital next month if all works out alright. I haven’t taken the SATs yet, (May 5th), but, with this information, and assuming I will get at least alright scores on the SAT, do I stand a chance? (I am Ukranian/Russian and distantly German, if that matters).

I will have:
Math - 4 years
Science - 4 years
English - 4 years
History - 3 years (Gov/Econ next year is the 3rd year, if that counts as history…)
Language - 2 years of Spanish, but I am fluent in Russian and am going to take a test.
And I have a bunch of electives like theatre and creative writting and drawing and film production and photography. Will probably be on yearbook next year.

If you can just give me some thoughts or pointers, I would really really appreciate it. Thank you!!!

Yeah you'll probably get in. I'll got in with stats no better (actually a little worse). Just study for your SATs and be sure to score above 1250. If you don't do to well the first time, take them again, but take a Kaplan Course or something...

-The Worse Coot66

Really? That makes me feel a lot better. But when did you enter? I heard the criteria and selectivity became more severe in the last few years?

Does anyone else have any opinions? (I'm kind of freaking out beyond belief!) =/

Got in this year. BU School of Management '11. Don't worry, just concentrate on maintaining a high GPA and scoring well on your SATs.

-The Concentrating Coot66

The criteria went up slightly, like it does each year. We didn't have the same type of year as Princeton, Harvard and such did.

I think you should be fine if you do well on the SATs.

OK. My SAT scores are in and they're not too good. =/ But I am retaking them in the fall.

OVerall, an 1890.

Critical Reading 590
Math 530
Writing 770

Ah, please tell me I have a chance if I improve on my 2nd try.

PS I'm taking my US Hist and English SAT IIs in June.

If you improve on your second try, it should give you a much better shot. Your writing score was excellent. Best part about having one really strong section is that you can spend all your time focusing on the other two. Do some type of review book or anything to help boost you score in math and reading. You stats are pretty consistent with BU's criteria so just really study hard to boost those SAT scores and I think you have a real solid chance
