<p>Affirmative action is very strong at UM, statistically you have better chances than somebody who is white and has an SAT score 200 points higher than you. They don’t look at your UW gpa, and they don’t count freshman year or art/foreign language classes unless you plan to major in art or a foreign language. </p>

<p>Being out of state improves your odds if you are going to pay your way through college because they get 27,000+ a year from you rather than 12,000. </p>

<p>Overall I would bet that you get in unless the grade recalculation really hurts you.</p>
