UC Davis is my dream school. Many of my senior friends were not able to get in, and it’s making me feel very discouraged. Here are my stats…my gpa is my greatest concern. It is not low, but it is low for the major that I want to apply to. My grades for junior year has quite the downward trend because of some hardships that popped up that I was very unprepared for (2 deaths in 5 months+first time experiencing it=not good).

-I am a Junior at a pretty competitive public magnet school in California.
-I am first generation (if that matters)
-I want to major in something health related (which to my dismay, is one of the most impacted)
-I am Chinese

-UC GPA: 4.0 (I am predicting my grades for the second semester of Jr. year)
-SAT: 1800…(But I am very certain I can raise it up to 2000+)
-4 APs so far: AP Lang, APWorld, APHG, APUSH
-Pre-Cal Hon and Physics Hon (both weighted)

-2 years volunteering in library
-Paid Art Internship: Summer and Fall
-Was also Youth Advisory Board Mem. at this internship
-I was accepted into a research program this summer.
-2 years Science Club
-2 years Crafting Club… also VP for 1 yr.
-1 year Varsity Fencing
-1 year Volunteer Club
-Starting to volunteer at local clinic.
-Have volunteered in local festivals, food banks, soup kitchens, etc.

What can I do to be a better applicant? And thank you guys for your help. :)
