Chance me please :)

Been sometime seen I am posted here but I got much better stats now :)
Mind chancing me for Stern and CAS?

Nationality: Singaporean

GPA: 3.5/4.0 . Realized this is a little bit on the low side but I come from Singapore which have an extremely intense education system. Would that count for anything?

Edit*: Oh yea. I studied a great deal of finance modules such as risk management where i learn about the Basal accords and stuff like that, wealth management, invesyment, corporate finance. ahh you get the idea

SAT: 1500/2150. Would a poor writing score pull down my application? I heard stern does not look at writing, so kindda banking on that.

APs: Self studied everything. Is there a place to put that in the application?

Calculus Ab (5)
Macro (5)
Micro (5)
Comparative government (4)

Extra stuff I did:

Online Distance Learning with Oxford
Did Introduction to Philosophy which was an extremely tough course.
And Introduction to Macroeconomics which was very simple.

EC: Internship with a bulge bracket firm. Won a national market-making competition. Was a head of a section in my EC. 22 months of national services.

Thanks :)!

You could try for heop. Are you applying next year for class of 2018?

I think you have a good chance.

What? Why would he do HEOP, nowhere does he say he’s from new York

Thanks for the comments. More please :)

Can I have your current average in percentage. Also provide what courses you take would be easier to chance you.

I dont get what you mean by percentages…but in my ‘major’, i took mainly financial related modules such as wealth management, investment, corp fin, risk management, business management. All of this. soo yea.

percentages as in 90%, 92% etc , because you did mention if your GPA is unweighted.

But your choices of courses are excellent , Bravo!

I dont think we have such a system. But one thing to note is that I do not think that my GPA is truly reflective of my overall ranking. Because in Singapore, we have a streaming process where only a small handful of people would be placed into this course which is done based on meritocracy, and the gpa that i got is actually graded upon this small handful of people. Therefore, on the whole school wise, I believe my score should be seen as much higher. Is there a way to communicate this to the school?

One more thing I want to ask is…IF i get into stern, would there be any chance for me to learn from Aswath Damodaran? He is one of my idol in the field of valuation.
