Chance Me PLEASE

Hey! So I'm a female from California and I want to know my chances

Overall GPA (un-weighted) 3.9
SAT 1730- Math 580, Reading 590, Writing 560
Rank(un-weighted) 32 out of 750
Rank(weighted) 120 out of 750 I think

Thanks so much :)

Your GPA is great! However, Your SAT scores are quite low for UT Austin. What Major are you applying for? Also, what are your extra-curricular activities? Those are really important for UT Austin.

UT Austin uses 2 calculations for their review applicants. First, they predict your freshmen year gpa and after that they give you a score for your essays and a score for your activities such as sports or community service. They then place those together on a x-y graph and see where you are. If you are at the Low corner, its a straight no. If you are in the middle, it hard to tell. If you are at the top corner, you are in.

Ok, I couldn’t figure out what the average scores were! I applied as undeclared and I have horseback riding, soccer, child care, and employment experience. Not too much…

“Rank(un-weighted) 32 out of 750

How many advanced classes out of how many advanced classes available at your school did you take?
This weighted/unweighted rank looks like a bunch of regular classes with high grades (and UT doesn’t consider GPA at all)

When making admission decisions, we look positively upon students who show their commitment to academics by taking the most rigorous coursework available to them. Level of coursework taken is considered in context with the availability of coursework in your high school.”
