I live in a small mountain town in Colorado and I do need financial need. Thanks for the help.

My school does rank, but we don’t have weighted grades so the ranks are accurate when compared to the rest of the country. I’m in top 20%, but if we had weighted grades I would probably make it into top 10% (note that I am estimating here).

I have had some contact with my admissions counselor (a couple of calls and an email). I am visiting the campus in a few weeks, it will be the first time that I have visited.

As a 2006 grad of DC, just to let you know, late in the game:

You are a very qualified applicant. But that is not relevent. Imagine trying to measure the length of each hair on your head and to pick the top 10000 in length. You cannot sit the hairs side by side, and are only allowed to use a very course ruler with inch markings.

In the end, you have several thousand hairs that you will feel are the longest, and you will randomly choose 1000, though will probably lie and tell yourself these seemed longer.

That is college admissions. You were one of the longest hairs definitely, but frankly the second round is just random luck. Best of luck wherever you go. I’m sure the future holds good things for you if you keep your work ethic.
