I know that this might be useless but I thought I’d give it a go anyways:
I have a 3.3 weighted GPA
1870 SAT CR: 630 M:590 W:650
ACT:27
By the end of my senior year I will have completed 4 AP classes and 5 AP tests
I attend one of the top 20 public schools in NJ and top 300 in the nation
Volunteered at my local nature preserve through sophomore, junior and senior year
Played and performed classical piano for 12 years
Internship with my Congressman
Played soccer for 10 years
I have a part-time job

I don’t really believe in doing this whole “chance” thing but then again I am entitled to my own opinions… I think the 3.3 weighted GPA is your biggest issue given the fact that you attend a high performing school. I know my roommate has similar stats and extracurriculars like you before being admitted to AU, but he came from a low-income, low performing, 90% minority high school. However, if you’ve demonstrated an upward trajectory for your grades, I think admissions officers will be less critical of your GPA.

My son had a 3.3 GPA and got in last year. His SAT was similar. I would recommend that you apply ED and express your interest at every chance. Visit if you can. Visit their booth at college fairs. Have an interview. Write very good essays. AU wants students who want to be there. It is a great school and my son is loving it. Don’t expect to get merit aid though.
