Chance me please! :)

I am a community college student in North Carolina. I will be graduating this semester with an 3.9 G.P.A and about 70 credits (made a B in tennis once). I have taken biology, biotechnology, genetics, microbiology, anatomy/physiology, chemistry, computer science, programming and the general education classes.

I am active on campus–involved with Student Government and PTK. I have three teachers who will write me excellent letters.

However, my application is lacking in two aspects—math and extracurricular activities. I have had to work the entire time I was in school and take care of sick family members which did not leave alot of time for different activities. As for math, I never had a good math foundation and have had to take some remedial math classes. I am currently taking Pre-Cal and doing pretty well in it so far (finally!)… Do you think I would have a chance of getting accepted at any instate school? Currently considering UNC-Charlotte, Eastern, NC State and possibly Chapel Hill (as a reach).

Thanks for your time.

UNC-CH is reachable…

So do you think I should apply to UNC-CH? Really worried that they wouldn’t accept me because of my math record and I don’t want to spend money if I don’t have a chance of getting in. Transfer deadline is the 15th.

Go for it, a 3.9 GPA speaks wonders, and you attempting Pre-Calc is a really good look. And you have a very science-related background. I think you’re going to do very, very well! Chapel Hill is the staple campus, congrats from a fellow PTK member on such a great GPA. Chance me please?

Also, do you have any SAT/ACT test scores?

I took the SAT once when I was 16–scored in the 600 range in both reading and writing. I rather not talk about the math section… I don’t plan on reporting my SAT scores.
