Hi. I’m a rising senior and I am starting to narrow my college search. I go to a competitive public high school in the northern suburbs of chicago. My top two choices at the moment are Boston College and Wake Forest.
I have an ACT of 32C (35 R 34 E 30 M 29 S)
My GPA is 4.4
I am on the tennis team, debate, student government, I run a charity event at my school, in-school tutor, National and World Language Honors Society member, and coach tennis to underprivileged kids in Chicago.
What are my chances of getting in to BC and WFU?
I honestly think you have a great chance! Your ACTs are above average, but you can never tell with highly selective schools!
I’m currently at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and a lot of my friends applied to big-name schools like Northeastern and NYU, and even though they were well qualified just like you are, they didn’t get in. To that extent, you have a fair shot at these schools because your application is going to look the same like a lot of other students. That doesn’t mean you won’t get in, you’ll just be ubiquitous.
Try to widen your college list too, maybe try UIUC and DePaul.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
