-= Chance Me Please =-

Hi, I'm still in 11th grade, but I wanted to know if I have any chance at these universities? Also, I want to go into medicine so any recommendations of other universities I should look into would be appreciated.

Chance me for:
All of the UC's
Stanford <--- lol, any chance? .000000000001%? =p
Caltech
USC
UW(Seattle) <--- In state for me
JHU

GPA- unweighted = 3.4
UC GPA- 3.5
(I know my GPA is really bad, I go to a private school if that changes anything, also I have an upward trend)

SAT: 2100 on SAT 1
SAT2: Haven't written yet
My school only offers AP's in grade 12 and I am going to be taking
AP Calculus
AP Lit
AP Bio
AP Chem
AP Phys

I think I will have strong Rec's / Essays

I think my EC's are pretty good so far:
I went to India with my dad(a doctor) and he set up a medical camp which I helped work in.
Also, I went with an NGO to Costa Rica and volunteered. We did stuff like building schools, etc.
I do a lot of school sports: soccer, hockey, track, golf
I volunteer in two hospital's (over 100 hours)
NYLF Med Forum

I appreciate the feedback, and once again any recommendations on other universities would be appreciated as well.

just fyi, UC Berkeley is my dream school so if you have any tips, I would be grateful

In my humble opinion:

Stanford-big reach
Caltech-big reach
USC-slight reach

Work on your GPA, of course.

UCB out of state is a massive reach. You're definitely aiming too high, but you are a very qualified applicant for many other schools. Your GPA and relatively low SAT plus Asianness are gonna kill you at most of your schools. I think you should resign yourself to attending University of Washington (which by the way is a great school for premeds and yes, I know the difference between UW and WUSTL), and, if you do happen to make it into a better school, it will feel all the more an achievement. It does not help, however, that your GPA is so low without any APs...In addition to the schools you are applying to, try for some more schools away from the West Coast (since you at least listed JHU, I'm assuming you are interested in some). U Michigan, UVA, Carnegie Mellon (though it is pretty hard to get into), Lehigh University, Boston College, and NYU. If you can make it into any of those, they will offer you a great education. If you can't, it's better to "settle" (and I use the term loosely) for University of Washington (assuming you make it).
