Also next year I'm taking 2 AP's if that helps, and my brother attends.

Only week points are the SAT score and that you only have 2 APs. Consider taking the ACTs. They're a bit different, so you might do better. Being a minority and having a relative there helps, they both helped me get in. I'd just be sure to write amazing essays. And just out of curiosity, why are you in the asian club?

i wanted to experience another culture.. and thanks for the tips

apply early action. can't hurt.

I agree that you should probably try the ACTs. I think the legacy will help you, but won't get you in. This past year they only accepted 17%. Being a double legacy did help my son get in, but had great grades and a very high math score, his verbal was just ok. Be in contact with VBS and ask insightful questions and make sure your essays are stellar and let them know how much you want to be there. Good luck because it seems like getting there lately is a crap shoot as they had 16,000 applications last year.

Your black, so you're a shoe-in! Life is unfair...

I would get GPA & SATS up if I were you ... also, what is your rank? Rank is another thing the Villanova admissions office looks at. I wouldn't sweat it - your list of ECs is particularly impressive! Since you are a minority AND your brother attends, that will give you bonus points. Not to discourage you, but a girl who ranked 13 out of 188 people in my high school graduating class did not get accepted. She recieved a 1400 on her SATS, took almost all APs, and had a 3.9 GPA. She was also a legacy and her parents donated a decent amount of money to Villanova every year. I am not trying to discourage you, but who knows what's running through admission's heads when they make these desicions. I'm sure if I had posted her stats on this site, most people would agree she sounds like a shoe-in! Villanova is a great school, but I wouldn't have your heart set on just one university!

thanks but i'm also really looking into northeastern as my second choice then as backups loyola md, BU, GW, Boston College (reach), and hofstra (safety)
