applying to School of Human Ecology for Sport Management

have taken more than 2 honors classes throughout high school at least two per year just haven't listed them

I think you have a good chance. From what ik..i'm just a h.s. student who thought of applying to syracuse...but i didn't.

I think you have a good chance of getting in :)

I think you're in man, no stess. Your numbers are way above Cuse's average and you didn't apply to a major as competitive as Newhouse, so I think your chances are really high. If you interviewed and that went well that would be another major bonus. As long as your essays and recs were solid, I would say that you're in.

My D also applied to Sport Management. As an alumni, I went to a "class" during homecoming on the "new" (4 years old) sport management program. They were explaining their goals, etc and said how the program was as competitive as Newhouse now. They only accept 50 students per year, avg. SAT for the program last year was 1350/1800 and avg. GPA 3.8. I think you have a shot (much better than my daughter though they did say they wanted to admit more women into the program). The other thing they looked for was experience in the sports area, not only playing but managing sports (for example, my D is an umpire for BB and SB during the summer and also assisted managed the summer junior golf league at the local Country club). Good luck, it is a great program (I think D will be hotel management with a minor in sport management-she wants to run a big Country Club or golf resort).

getting nervous still havent heard back

Neither has my D. I think we will have to wait until next Friday, but keep hope up. Both of you are applying to Sport Management, so maybe they haven't made the decision on which 50 of you are getting in! I do know that in previous years the emails went out in batches. Last year it was 3 and on a weekly basis with acceptances and declines in each batch. When you look here, there are about 30 kids on the boards, which is not a big representation of who applied. The Daily Orange reported as of last week approximately
20,200 kids had applied RD which is down about 1-2% from previous years. They admit half of that, so obviously we are seeing on a micro-sample here.

I'm still waiting too!

i would not take the fact that you are not in the first round with any negative connotation. from what i have gathered, it is completely random and we will just have to wait until next Friday

i really wish that we didn't have to wait until NEXT friday that is going to feel like forever and if we dont get accepted on Friday there will be another full week of waiting UGH

Your stats are excellent! I wouldn't fret. There are quite a few of us still waiting!
