I wrote a letter to the admissions office, and Stephen Farmer replied saying that he would forward my letter to the admissions council and stick it in my file and that he liked my continued consideration in the university.

I have more in depth info such as amount of serv hours and more extracirucs such as varsity soccer for 4 years and more useful thing, if need be i will post them.

Thanks for the help guys!

Do you kids in NC get credit for honors courses or something? I notice a lot of in-staters have high weighted gpa's. Or are there just tons of AP's available?

Oh, and you are in fo sho

hey i think i only get more credit for my AP courses my advisor splits it up into the unwieghted and wieghted gpa's so im guessing the wieghted is factoring in the AP classes

TarHeelBound, yes. There is a good amount of AP courses offered; I, myself, have taken seven AP courses in total. Honors courses are also factored in for a weighted GPA.

That must be crucial then.I will have taken about 7 when i graduate as well. I mean, when I was an underclassmen, the honors(I take AP now) were not weighted. So, does UNC have their own scale for figuring up a GPA or do they simply look at the unweighted version?

TarHeelBound, I think they look at both versions of the GPA. Also, adcoms probably look at specific grades to get a better feel of rigor and performance.

This is where the SAT comes into play.
