Chance me Please!

Hello everyone, my name is Mike and I’am one those kids who wants to become something extraordinary in order to help the needy people around the world. Well, if somebody desires to be great, they need great education, right? This is where, I believe, College Confidential comes in. This is a site where the “aspiring hopefuls” like me post their profiles to see whether or not they have a good chance of getting into the Ivy Leagues.

So I beg everyone who views this: Instead of leaving my Thread without even a single word, could you guys take some time to view this and reply with your utmost honesty?

well you can put down that your uncle graduated from brown, but brown looks for the overall person. you need to also demonstrate that you can thrive with academic freedom.

hi, i’m a 2014 hopeful too (see you at brown, hopefully?!)
but, anyway, your stats look good, brown loves musical people, so all of the band/drum stuff is excellent. the only thing that i see that is missing is some community service! also in terms of course load if possible some AP Science classes are missing! Really focus your ECs on what you said “wanting to be one of those extraordinary people that helps the needy” Browns a reach for everyone but in general it seems possible for you!

You NEED to take calculus in order for colleges to take you seriously, it is the only AP which truly assesses college-level thinking… since you are not taking AP calc… I am assuming you are taking honors?

I think you have a decent chance. Not gaurenteed of course, but you DO have a chance. Brown is a uncertaintly for all students! But your EC’s are impressive but are they at college level? You have consistancy and your musical experience diffidently shows your dedicated and have a passion for your religion. Please chance me back on my thread! Thank you! :)
