<p>Hello, I am a white male from the midwest and I was wondering what my chances would be at any of the Ivies, Stanford, or MIT.</p>

<p>My GPA is a 3.95 unweighted and my class rank is 7 out of 318.</p>

<p>I have taken every honors course that my school offers and all but one of the AP classes.</p>

<p>I scored a 34 on the ACT
English-35
Math-35
Reading-35
Science-31
Writing-11
Combined English/Writing-34</p>

<p>I have not taken and do not plan to take the SAT.</p>

<p>I am the president of Future Business Leaders of America, the Vice President of Distributive Educational Clubs of America (basically a marketing club), and the Vice President of Science Club. I am involved in a variety of other clubs, but I am not an officer in any of those. I was also the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership selectant from my school.</p>

<p>My EconChallenge and FinanceChallege teams have consistenly placed in the top 5 in the state (Nebraska, so not crazy impressive), I think around four times and I would expect to place again this year.</p>

<p>I have been volunteering for Big Brothers Big Sisters for three years now, with a total of about 125 hours. I volunteer for the American Red Cross when possible (75 or so hours) and helped in a Congressman's campaign for re-election during my sophomore year (75 hours as well).</p>

<p>Any insight/comments would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>You have a chance at the Ivies that’s for sure, but with them you can never be sure that you’ll get in. If your essays are good, though, I’m pretty sure with those marks you’ll get into at least one if not more.</p>

<p>Yeah, you probably have achance so its a crapshot though. If it helps the ivies from least selective to most are about
Harvard
Columbia( tie with harvard nearly exceeds it)
Yale
Princeton
Mit is up there too. I think you have good stats but so do alot of others b/c you are from a geographiclly needed area you might have a betterchance.</p>

<p>Ok. I also failed to mention that I’m interested in pursuing a business major, don’t know if that has any major effects on the chances. How big of a disadvantage is it to be a white male?</p>

<p>dd55 it is a disadvantage but it isnt that much of a difference, you shouldnt worry about being white lol just apply to top schools with a few safeties and just see what happens :)</p>
