do i have a chance of getting in? and if so, how high or low
Thank you!

:O How’d you get a 4.22 UC gpa from a 3.67 unweighted? Is that even possible?

The UC’s only allow up to eight semester Honors/AP/College courses to be given “extra” credit towards your UC gpa (ie: A = 4.0, but since it’s honors, an A = 5.0).

Assuming you took 6 classes each semester, that’s 24 classes for your sophomore/junior year. And assuming you got A’s in your 8 AP/Honors classes, (3.67 x 16) + (5.0 x 8) / 24 = 4.11 = Maximum possible weighted UC gpa you could have. If you took more than 6 classes/semester or you didn’t get A’s in those honors classes, the weighted UC gpa will be lower.

Anyway, if your UC gpa is a 4.11, and with your extracurrics, you should be fine.

Target.

oo thank you.
im not sure how they calculated 4.22, i got that from my counselor

There’s a difference between weighted GPA and UC GPA. They weight things differently. If you want to figure out your UC GPA, this:

[CaliforniaColleges.edu - Calculating Your GPA](http://www.californiacolleges.edu/admissions/california-state-university-csu/gpa_calculator.asp)

is a great calculator. It’s technically for CSUs, but they calculate GPA the same way. =)

thank you for that. (: i got a 4.17 with that.
does it lessen my chances a bit?

Still, target, but a 3.67 –> 4.17 is still unlikely too, a 4.11 is the max you could have… assuming you got straight A’s in the AP/honors courses. It’ll be lower if you took more courses than the avg 6/semester. Or did you take less than 6/semester? Then you could potentially have a 4.17…
