chance me PLEASE!

Ok I'm a female Malaysian/HongKong-ese(?) living in Brunei (tiny rich country right next to Malaysia) and I'm doing the IB right now and I'm predicted 43 points.
I'm predicted a 7 for HL Maths and HL Economics and a 6/7 for HL English.
And my SL subjects are fine. Ask if you dont understand the IB system!
Anywayyyy, I'm just really really worried about my SAT scores.

For my SAT II's, I got 650 for Bio M and 710 for Math I. I know thats pretty weak compared to the others that I've seen but I'm planning to retake these plus do the Mandarin SAT II coz I heard its a piece of cake.

I'm taking the SAT I's in Dec, late - I know but there was a bit of indecision with applying to the states! I've been doing practice tests and I'm on about 1900 ish (I THINK). My extracurriculars are brill and I'm not worried about my teacher recs. Essays should be good too! Just worried about my SAT results :/

Oh yeah and i should probably take the SAT II again in January right? Just in case and to try and get better scores?

Any input would be great :) Thanks!

oh bollocks i posted the thread twice! :/

For SAT I, the average is about 2000/2400, 1350/1600. Let’s just wait for your result. ^^
For SAT II…hmm, what school are you applying to? I applied to Stern ED, which definitely likes Math II better. Anyway, your Math I is fine. Just see if you can take Math II. :)

Also, would you mind to post more stat (ex: leadership, EC activities, GPA, etc) so that the real CC experts (I’m not one of them) can make more accurate predictions?

Good luck!!

I’m applying to CAS RD. Andddd I think I’m just going to retake those because I expected much higher from the Maths I :frowning: I dont know what happened thereee.

Ok. We dont really have that GPA thing going on coz we’re using the British curriculum but I’m top 3 in the grade. But then again, our school’s pretty small and there’s 50 in our grade but we’ve had many students go to amazing unis all over the world.

EC’s:

 • Varsity soccer, basketball and netball (english sport) team. Attended international competitions in Asia every year for netball and soccer and we’ve been doing pretty well. We’re champions in Brunei. I’m also in the Brunei National U18 Netball team. Besides that I was in the badminton team and have played tennis and swam in many competitions too. Hahah basically sports are my passion, especially soccer. There’s a whole ton of other action-y/sporty things I’ve done. Uhhh like climb the tallest mountain in South East Asia.
 • I’ve won the Director’s Award for community service for the things I’ve done: planted trees in the rainforest, painted at children’s wards at the hospital here, volunteered at a center for disabled people for years, taught and helped autistic children learn gymnastics, rebuilt this community hall at a village in Malaysia, volunteered at all student council events, been in the yearbook committee (there were no editors, the teachers were the editors and had lead roles), helped out at many charity events e.g. working with Giordano to sell shirts (all proceeds went to the indonesian earthquake victims), did beach cleanups etc.
 • Been involved in MUN ever since I started Year7 (Grade 6). Was a floor secretary then delegate then committee chair then secretary general and organized the entire conference with a few hundred kids. Nobel Peace Prize Winner Wangari Maathai + other icons were our guests. I was also one of the 6 students picked to go to Qatar for the MUN there organised by the Georgetown University there.
 • I also perform quite a lot. I’ve had quite a few lead roles in the school productions, I play the guitar and I just finished Grade 3 and I’m taking Grade 4 next may. Did mandarin dances and performed at many events for the past 4 years. I also played the piano but stopped because I had to make a choice between piano and guitar (time constraints)
 • was one of 2 students in the National Maths Olympiad Competition.
 • worked in the summer: 1 summer at Giordano(international clothes shop), another summer as a summer camp assistant with kids.

Leadership roles:

 • Senior house captain
 • Secretary General and Committee Chair at the MUNs
 • Captain of Soccer and Basketball team
 • Organized the annual talent show at our school to fundraise for charity

hahaha I mightve missed a few but awfully sorry, i think i rambled :frowning: but is that enough for better predictions?
