From what I've seen on these polls, most of the high schools score GPA on a 4.0 scale. However I my school does it on a 100.0 scale.

I'm currently valedictorian of my class with a weighted 100.01 (last time I checked?) average.

I've always taken the most rigorous of the courses offered at my school. My senior year has been by far the hardest. My academic classes and current grades are:
-AP Gov't and Politics (A)
-College Calculus/AP Calculus (A)
-Psychology (A)
-VHS (online class) Anatomy & Physiology (A)
-College Bio 101 and 102 (A)
-College English 101 and 102 (B+)
-Economics (second semester)
(any of the college classes are taken through the local community college for credits)

I'm also up for the one of the regents scholarships at my school for having the best scores on the NYS regents exams.

Recommendations-- One extremely well done, one average, and one I didn't see.

I don't know if it means anything and I might get bashed for this, but I ask that you please be respectful. The supplemental essay was about diversity and different viewpoints and I talked about being gay. Colgate's efforts to promote harmony between the LGBT community and straight community was one of the things I really liked about Colgate. I mentioned specific programs they offer (Big Gay Weekend, weekly dinners, etc.) I have no idea if this hurts, helps, or doesn't even affect my admission, but I figured I'd put it in here.

Thanks to everyone for their input. =D

You are pretty remarkable MJ- any school will be lucky to have you. I wouldn’t worry about the gay thing- I don’t think Colgate was kidding when they said they were committed to diversity.

Thanks a lot, man. Funny things is I posted this last night and got my acceptance letter a today!!! =D

That’s wonderful Mtj- congratulations!

Good luck to you mjt. I think Colgate is serious about tolerance and acceptance. My S, a recent Colgate grad, said his frat had several gay members. Some were rushed knowing they were gay and at least one guy, that I know of, came out after pledging. My S was home when he got the email from his brother, sent to all of the brothers, saying he was gay. Not a single brother was upset or bothered. All, or most, were supportive. I, on the other hand, was completely amazed that the fraternity was so accepting. Things have certainly changed since I was in school. I was proud of his fraternity, and him.

And congratulations on your acceptance to Colgate.
