Right now I would say GT is a a bit of a reach.
Definitely retake the ACT and score above a 30.
You need to concentrate on boosting your GPA during the rest of high school.
Write a killer essay.
And definitely take AP Calc… and AP Bio?

Idk if race will help, but it definitely won’t hurt.

Sorry. Your GPA and ACT scores are both out of range. You need to get your GPA into the 3.6+ range unweighted, and your ACT score closer to 30 (at least 27+).

As far as AP exams go, I would take both Biology and Calc. If you can only take one, take AP Calc.

There’s people who get 3.4’s with 31/2(1/2)00’s who get in, so don’t get too down on GP’s post, however GT is becoming increasingly more difficult to get into, so I could obviously be wrong, but I would say as of now, it’s a reach, but get that ACT/SAT up and you could get in.

I’m being realistic with my post. If she wants to get in, a 3.6 UWGPA and 27 or 28 ACT is about the minimum to have a realistic chance. Anything less than that, and she’s reaching.

Yeah and since georgia tech reported a 13% increase in applicants (don’t quote me on the number…) it’ll be harder to get into the fifth engineering school in the nation.
