I am a jr in high school as of now. Please give me any advice or pointers for my senior year. I plan on applying for ED1 next year. Thanks!! =]

You definitely need to get your ACT and GPA/rank up if you want to be a competitive candidate. Your ECs look good but you will want to try and get office/leadership positions to show your really interested in what you are doing.

I think your GPA is actually okay, as long as you didn’t/don’t get any C’s. The dean of admissions I met with told me that C’s make them worry. It definitely helps to apply binding ED to show interest.

Would prefer a good pianist/chess player/football player/anything that requires a lot of skill and talent and practice over a person filled with a bunch of common-sight ECs.

Which means you might be good at tennis or music. If you are, you better let them know. Awards in tennis and music would be necessary to demonstrate this. Not county level. Regional, state, or national.

They don’t want well-rounded students. They want students who excell in one or two areas. Your ECs focus in community service, so I’m assuming you’re the latter.

Which means, you would want to demonstrate passion for your desire to help people in your essay. You focus in that area, which is super good.

I have to disagree with Beretta. I just got in ED2 and I am much more well rounded than someone who just excels in one to two things. No part of my application was really strong, but nothing was really weak, just balance all around.
