I am currently writing my essays, and I have scheduled my interviews. I definitely need financial aid because my dad is a civilian for the military... For the SSAT, I am in preparation before i take it in October. THANKS~

I presume based upon your info that you are a current 9th grader. Your extracurricular activities are impressive for your age and I can see that you have taken a highly rigorous course load and have excelled. If you can write about your background in an engaging way, do well in your SSAT, and maybe even apply as a repeat freshman, I see no reason why you do not have a shot at these schools. While Deerfield, Exeter and Lawrenceville will unfortunately be aware of your status applying for financial aid and might reject you if they cannot provide sufficient aid, Andover is need-blind and would likely provide sufficient aid if admitted. I am also applying (albeit as a new Upper) to Andover, Deerfield, Choate, either Hotchkiss or St. Pauls, and a safety, so I am in a similar position as you are, and am also Korean, which I hope does not affect my chances too greatly. Best of luck to us both!

Thank you. It would be delightful for both of us to get accepted to Andover, in which I believe is beyond prestigious! May I ask you, do you live in Korea, and by any chance, do you go to any international schools such as SFS, SIS, or KIS?

I live in the US, but come from Korean heritage. It is said that Asians are disadvantaged in admissions as over-represented minorities in college admissions, but I am not entirely sure this is true, although it is likely, when it comes to prep school admissions. And I would love to go to Andover, which is irrefutably my top choice.

Yes, I have repeatedly heard of that information from many people around me as well… However, the fact is that these schools will pick the bright people, so if you are extraordinary, who cares what race you are!?(:
I agree too, Andover is definitely my top choice, because it is just spectacular and intriguing. I would love to be in an environment like Andover…!
Have you taken the SSAT? I am a bit intimidated about what my results will be…
