Hi,
Actually, my high school does not provide a unweighted gpa. Instead they provide official expected marks(out of 100) of the board exams to be assesed in March 2013. These marks have been entered in my transcripts and said to be unweighted. :)

Hi Catria,
Thank you sooooo much for your reply. Actually i was thinking of University of Washington as a Match or a safety school as for the international applicants, the SAT is optional and the competitive Toefl score is 92-95. While my SAT is in the middle 50% so i thought that it might be a match or a safety school.
You have put it in the high match category. Is it so?

Hi,
Umm. Yeah for USC and Chapel hill i think i wont get in. But, for UT Austin i believe my SAT is okayish. As i am an international student, will that be more hard for me to get into UT as most of the students in UT are texans?

I’m applying to UT Austin as well and it’s always hard to tell whether you’re going to get in from OOS because of the 7% class rank system for IS applicants.

Also, UT does not superscore and will only look at your best score from one sitting (info from here: Testing & Test Scores | Be a Longhorn). Since OOS is so competitive, OOS applicants scores have a higher average than IS applicants, averaging at a 30 ACT and 1946 SAT (info from here: 2013 SAT/ACT Scores | Be a Longhorn). The most recent link also tells you the average SAT and ACT scores for each college within UT Austin.

Here are some more stats for OOS students: Out-of-State Students | Be a Longhorn.

Hopefully these links will help you get a feel for your admissions chances! I’d say UT is a reach though, sorry.

Hey, my major is Computer Science.
According to the UT’s website my college would be the College of Natural Science. Its average SAT is 1872. My SAT in one sitting is 1770.
Breakdown- Math-700
CR-480
WR-590
I have submitted 3 essays while applying knowing that only one is required as the other two were optional. All of them appear to be good.

Also, UT’s average international SAT score is in 1800’s so i think i am close to that. What do you say?

Hey, my major is undeclared at this point, but computer science is my major of interest right now, too!
Honestly, it’s so hard to tell whether or not an OOS or international is going to get in because it is so competitive. I’d say with your scores that UT is a low reach just because your scores are below the average, but that’s just my opinion. Best of luck!
