...bump...

do you do any other sports besides fencing?

9th in the IB program? Wow i didn't know that that was possible. what do you mean by involved in the IB program?

Why would you not apply to Lawrenceville? I hear that their fencing program is very strong. If you want to continue fencing you should also look at The Masters School. I don't know if your other schools have a serious fencing program.

Im in an IB school and its not possible to be in the IB program in 9th grade. He/She probably in some pre-IB program like MYP...Middle years program.

I agree with Burb. The Masters School has a very strong fencing program, and the main coach an is ex-Olympic coach. Many of the fencers are The Masters School are nationally ranked.

The Masters School does have a GREAT fencing program. I had a 2 middle school meets with their middle school team last year, they creamed us like 4(us)-12(them), and like 3(us)-13(them). It was our first year of my school having a middle school team, but that's pretty inexcusable.

SORRY I DIDN'T REPLY FAST

hey sorry guys, i thought i would get notifications like facebook, if people replied. haha.

i am in the MYP program...leading to IB. sorry for the confusion :)

no, fencing is my main sport. I do want to try some team sports like crew or soccer, so i can also experience the school spirit that fencing, as an individual sport, does not have.

I applied to Exeter, Andover, Deerfield, and Lawrenceville last year, and all 4 waitlisted. Lawrenceville was my "safety" (compared to the others, but still, definitely a GREAT school) and that was actually the school I liked the most. It had fencing and science olympiad, my two favorite activities. unfortunately, lawrenceville also had saturday classes, which definitely reduces the number of tournaments i can go to. I also talked to the coach, who said that not many people fenced competitively, ie for national tournaments. also, there was no real fencing club near enough to the school.

at andover, i found a club that was pretty competitive, and close to the school. there is a fencer i know there also. At exeter, there have been fencers at their school before. at deerfield, exeter, and andover don't have saturday classes.

THANKS GUYS for all your feedback and support =]
