See, what you have listed there, is basically what all HYP students have in general. Great scores, a great GPA, volunteer work and an instrument or sport. This is only good enough when you absolutely EXCEL at one of these. From what you have provided us with, it does not seem to be so. It is what you do past these “ordinary” statistics coupled with great essays and recommendations that will ultimately get you in.

I’ll leave you with this advice, find what you love to do, and while maintaining your grades, spend every waking moment in an effort to excel at that passion. It will get you closer to where you want to be, and if not, you have spent you’re time doing something you love anyways. Nothing can guarantee your admission, however if you are going to do anything, make sure it’s something you love doing, regardless of if it gets your dream school or not. Do not try to do things just to pad your resume, as it really is not worth it. Lets say, god forbid, you are rejected from all three, what would the whole year you spent doing random things be worth? Nothing.

For extracurriculars, I recommend going into some club involving debate or involving yourself in more leadership positions (captain of a team, etc.)
