Hey all--

I suppose I'm somewhat of an interesting case. Out of high school I attended Lake Forest College, a private school in Illinois, and received average-to-decent marks--a 2.9 average. After my third semester I transferred to Diablo Valley College, a community college in California. I'm in my second semester here and will be attending for spring, but for fall 2009 I hope to go to attend UC Davis.

What are my chances of being admitted as a political science major? At the end of this semester, I presume my average GPA (for DVC, I'm not sure how they'll average the separate school GPA's together) will be a 3.4 or 3.55. I've taken almost all of the requisite courses for UC transfer and I've stacked next semester with the final required course and the remainder of the poly-sci pre-reqs (will this look bad? will my waiting till the last minute in regard to these courses be looked down upon?)

One last question: do UCs, and more specifcally, UC Davis, factor in the personal statement? My counselor says that they don't, but I don't necessarily trust him.

So, uh, I guess the lingo is: "chance me."

Thanks in advance!
