Chance me RD please!

Every site I look at that does automatic chances says something different, so I was wondering if I could get other (real) people’s opinion. Not the table on last year’s admission stats, I’m pretty sure I’ve memorized that by now. Real opinions please!

3.7 GPA (My school doesn’t really do Weighted)
Top 10th in my class
SAT: 590 reading
480 Math
520 Writing
Full IB canidate

ECs:
-Band for 3 years. Two year I was section leader for Drumline. First sophomore in band to be section leader
-Drama. 3 years.
-CAS (if that counts)
[school doesnt really have ECs]

Extra Info:
-Rockin’ essay. English teacher said it was the best she has seen all year. (Shes HL English)
-One of two students in the history of my school to be accepted to the IB program
-I go to the best school in the Midwest, hosting only AP and IB classes.

I mainly just worried about my SAT scores. My parents couldn’t afford for me to take prep courses and I’m not good at standardized test.

Your SAT scores are quite below…“My parents couldn’t afford for me to take prep courses and I’m not good at standardized test.” That not a good reason to score low on the SAT…1590 can be bumped up to at least 1700 if you just get a book from your local library…no need to pay money…Just have to practice…that math score is below normal… 480 means you are not familiar with some of the math concepts…it is not because you are a bad test taker…Rest of the application is fine but this nasty standardized test will hold you back if you don’t score higher in Math…520 also can be bumped if you just get familiar with grammar rules…seriously writing is the easiest part of the SAT and you should get over 650 on it if you can score 590 in reading

i’m not sure if you did or not but you could apply test optional, also your ec’s are a little weak for au because they like to see people active in their community even if it isn’t school related. ib should help though. good luck!!! (i got in this year)

Last year’s admission stats are useful. Random posters’ opinions are meaningless. They have no better knowledge than you do. If three people’s opinion is that you’re in, will you know any more than you know now? No. If three people’s opinion is that you’re not in, will you know any more than you do now? No. You know the strengths and weaknesses of your application better than anyone. I know it’s awfully hard to wait, and asking for chances makes you feel like you’re doing something, but it’s really a waste of effort. At this point you just have to sit tight for 7 weeks or so and you’ll have the actual answer. Good luck!
