Chance me? RD

Hey there CC, I know that it's hard to really say if someone is definitely in or not at a school, but despite all that i've done, I'm looking for some way to have my anxiety assuaged. Here's what my credentials look like right now:

-Senior
-Non-ranking but pretty noteworthy high school in NY
-Have visited the campus
-I regularly speak to a faculty member there (not about the admissions process but just conversationally)

In terms of academics:

3.94 GPA
30 on the ACT 10 on the writing
770 on the US SAT II
680 on the Bio SAT II
5 on the US AP
currently taking AP Bio and AP Spanish language; currently have an A in Bio and B+ in Spanish
All four years I've taken very challenging classes and I've never taken free periods or anything like that

I'm a heath TA for sophomore students (only 14 seniors are chosen)
Member of the school newspaper (two years)
Have work experience for a year and a half in ski retail and service, and also as an entrepreneur (started pet care business over one summer and currently am a freelance writer)
Member of my school's science olympiad (compete in scientific competitions in state)
My volunteer hours are dispersed over a lot of community events as well as events that involve teaching kids about science and health
My letters of recommendation are pretty solid and my essay was as well

Currently writing a paper out of class that is assessing why success is not based on the institution but the individual; it's a social science paper and I've been writing it for a few months now.

So that's basically everything at the moment; if my grades aren't up-to-par then i'd be basing my chances on my personal achievement/quality

So what do you guys think?

Seems doubtful

^Agree. I would suggest retaking the ACT or taking the SAT for a better shot, your current score is in the bottom 25%, which is usually only comprised of URM, legacies, recruited athletes, etc. Best of luck!

(is that 3.94 unweighted or weighted?) An ACT retest will probably help, but definitely try applying. I have similar stats and I am definitely applying after going there for a summer program. And remember, they evaluate holistically so have good essays :)

Have to agree. The ACT is on the lower side for WashU and the ECs are underwhelming.

i mean its always a tough one when you do not have an excellent score on your tests…but then again if you think you have decent enough stats then just apply because you never know
