chance me Rowan University

I applied to Rowan as an EOF student.
My SAT Scores = CR 460 M 550 W 570
GPA = 3.2
Senior year im Taking AP Calc AB and AP Spanish, the first cycle of senior year I got a 4.143 GPA.
I never really tried my hardest during high school thats why GPA is so low.
Anyways my question is do you guys think I have any chance what so ever at Rowan Engineering I applied for Mechanical Engineering, How about Rutgers?
Would it be smart to go to CC and then transfer I really want to go to Rowan.

I’m no expert, but I know a bit. Son is an engineering grad and daughter currently attends.

I love your honesty and self-accountability. That will serve you well when you are interviewing for jobs, as long as you have a remedial action plan and you keep to it.
Looks like you have recently, but sometimes you can’t change in 3 months what took 3 years to occur. At least that’s what my doctor says.

The CC to Rowan route isn’t a bad idea for most majors, but not for Mechanical Engineering. Engineering admission is very selective at Rowan (my son’s freshman year, only 30 new students per engineering program were accepted, although I hear it’s expanded) and the 4-year curriculum is pretty well set from the first day freshman year. For general ed or undecided, you might have a shot depending on your app.

Why not apply to Rutgers, too? They are selective for engineering, as well, and the sticker price is about the same. One big difference, from my experience, is that I’ve met very few people from Rutgers-NB to actually graduate in 4 years. For a variety of reasons, I’ve noticed that it’s not unusual for Rutgers students to need an extra semester or two to graduate.

Don’t underestimate the amount of work that engineering students must do, either. Lots of projects and group projects. No slackers wanted. But if you manage your time well, and don’t camp out in your room, you can get the work done and have fun, too.

If you think you’re borderline, it won’t hurt to write an “optional” essay. Stress why you’d like to attend Rowan and what assets you bring to the table. Good luck.

What “optional” essay are you talking about? Is this only for engineering majors at rowan?

SpacemanED

I say you have a shot.

I got into all three SEBS SAS SOE, including engineering!
instate student, SAT 1750 math 670, weighted gpa 3.82!
