Chance me? SDSU. I'll chance back!

I am currently a sophomore at a nationally recognized performing arts school in Nevada, and attended a top math/science school my freshman year (AMSAT).

ACT Composite: 29
Freshman Classes: Intro Computer, French 1, English 1 Honors, Algebra 1 Honors (AMSAT), Adv-Study Math, Tech Theater 1, PE 1, Adv Biology H (AMSAT), Adv Study Science, and Health Education

My expected senior course load is: AP Micro/Macro Economics, AP Environmental Science, AP Literature and Composition, Prob/Stats Honors, US Government Honors, AP French, French Government Honors, and Student Aide (Kinda need it with all of those AP's!)
EC's: GSA member all four years, Junior Class President, President of French Club (2 years), Drama Club Secretary (1 year), multiple theater productions, FBLA member (1 year), Varsity Quiz Bowl (2 years), wrote for the school newspaper
Volunteer: Helped kids in elementary school with after school programs (SafeKey), Habitat for Humanity, Opportunity Village, Animal shelters (sorry I don't have hours, as I'm only a sophomore and the hours will be much greater than what they are now.)
Jobs: Summer job at a comic book store, sold newspapers during the school year on sundays

I really want to attend San Diego State University as a French major. Please let me know what my chances are and what I can do to improve them! Thank you! Also, I will chance you back if you ask.

Bringing up your GPA will help greatly but for now, SDSU is a match.

I live in San Diego, and I think you’ll be fine, even with your GPA. But don’t take my word for it–I’m just a high-schooler xD

gpa as others mentioned… your act score could be higher as well… but I think you’d a good match for sdsu…

chance me???

SDSU: Match (the weighted GPA of interest for a CSU bumps up one grade point your best 8 honors/AP/IB courses)

You might want to have French as a minor and choose something else on top. Or, if you can afford to attend a university in Quebec, Laval University seems to be a respectable choice for a safety.

My CSU gpa is 4.33 by the way!

SDSU: Low match (French doesn’t have that much impaction)

I believe the 4.33 is an uncapped CSU GPA but I don’t exactly know what use they make out of the capped GPA (the one that bumps up the best 8 AP/IB/honors classes and that I always assumed it carried more weight than the uncapped one at a CSU/UC)

What’s the difference between capped and uncapped?
Also, is a 4.33 good for SDSU? Or do I need to get it up higher?
