Chance Me/Should I Try? - Yale

I really love Yale, but it’s a total crapshoot…not only for anyone, but especially for me coming from a high school that sends one kid to a school of this caliber every 5 years or so. I am a junior btw… I’ll probably come back in a few months and be a completely different person, but I was just wondering if I should even bother considering a school like Yale.

GPA - 4.589… will be above a 4.7 during application season
Class Rank - top 5 out of around 235

SAT - took the December test and got a 1470 without too much studying, but I am shooting for above a 1550 by the fall even though that’s a joke

With those stats, you should apply. If you get more leadership in your ECs than you make yourself a stronger applicant as well

Assuming your unweighted GPA is 3.8+ and you can get that SAT up to 1500+, you’ll be a competitive applicant… which means Yale is a reach. But the only way you have a 0% chance is if you don’t apply, so if you love it and can afford it, shoot for “Light and Truth” with a killer app.
