<p>Obviously, you are an above average student (in the classroom) with plenty of extra curriculars to your name. However, colleges today are looking for young adults who have started to focus in on specific areas of interest. You appear to have spread yourself a bit too thin.</p>

<p>An admissions counselor reading your application will have trouble picturing you. What is it that interests you? Why are you a fit at Northwestern? The best way to solve this problem is to make sure that your essays and letters of recommendation are as specific as possible so that YOU shine through.</p>

<p>It's important to remember that each person applying to colleges like Northwestern is talented, intelligent, and experienced. But why are you any different? Hope this helps.</p>

<p>The fact is, I'm just a well-rounded kind of kid. I have two major areas of interest: leadership/politics and the arts/music/painting. I am sort of the political artist musician. I think my essays show this.</p>

<p>Your class rank, academics, and test scores all look very solid. I don't see a problem with the fact that you're a "jack of all trades" in the extracurriculars department, especially since you show a deep level of commitment with many of your endeavors. </p>

<p>I think the problem for many junior/seniors is that they start thinking about college and, realizing they aren't really committed to anything, join a lot of clubs and try to accumulate as many shallow statistics as possible. You obviously don't have that problem; good job sticking with your EC's all throughout high school. </p>

<p>I think you have a great chance at getting in to NU.</p>

<p>Oh, and I hate you for getting a 5 on AP US without having taken the course. :)</p>

<p>Admit - when did you find time to do all those EC's?? and is your family French?</p>
