I got 1900's on my SAT's. I will most likely enroll in a SAT private tuturoing to raise my score to around 2200's. Planning to attend CTY.

I have been invited to JrNYLC. I plan to attend.

I currently taking Algebra II with the Acellus program.(will be transferred into PreCal/something similar in about a month) in school and I study Calculus outside of school. Considered top student in my grade by my teachers.

Went into northern NJ regional band and bergen county band for clarinet.

Proficient in an asian language, and very fluent in English (american born).

Milton* not Mildon :). I would say you are in for Lawrenceville, the rest are super hard to get into but I am sure you will get into a handful of them. Great stats? But they like you to be good at ECs too.

I plan to do around 80 hrs of community service this summer in time for the application.

For some reason my 8th grade fried who got 2300 on the SATs, near perfect SSAT’s, 1st chair North NJ regionals, 3rd chair bergen county didnt get into Exeter, Andover, Milton OR Deerfield.

I am also considering:

St. Paul
Middlesex
Concord
Groton
Buckingham Browne & Nichols
Dalton
St. Marks School
Fieldston School
Webb School
Cate School
Lent
Westminster

But I need a scholarship to get in. Any other possible choices? The ones I mentioned above are my top choices.

To the Original Poster: it is not a good idea to use your e-mail address as your College Confidential name…makes it too easy for you to be identified. You should send a message to the moderators asking to have it changed.

You’re considering a lot of schools, perhaps it’s too many…
You might want to narrow down your choices? like 5 schools?

mckyle9423 is right. Take me as an example, I did really badly in the vocab part of the SSAT’s, but surprisingly, i was still accepted to Exeter. [and eh, waitlisted @ Andover]

Everyone has a different set of needs, but I would say apply to seven or eight. Some people say that is too much, but it gives you a broad range of choices. Of course do not apply to schools that you would not like to go to.

It really depends if you and your teachers have the will to do all those essays and recommendations. haha :]
Well, I don’t, so I only applied to three.haha (:

All your choices are amazing schools. Good luck next year! :]

Apply to many and hope you get into one. Your great…but your asian, and many top asians apply. So you have to try and set yourself apart…write good essay, do good essays. And pray.

umm… that wasn’t very smart of you to just give out your e-mail address to random people…

umm… work on your essays and interviews, they’re probably one of the most important parts of the app. process in my opinion.
they’ll probably set you apart from other applicants-especially asian applicants. (personal experience ^^)

wow, how many schools are you thinking of applying to?!
yea… if you’re going to apply to that many, do NOT procrastinate… haha

Yeah, well I guess it also depends on which Asian country you’re from.
If you’re from China, Taiwan, Korea, etc, those are the more popular countries and more applicants. xP

I have probably oustanding recommendations from my math, english, history, science and spanish teachers.

Could any1 post theyre stats+ the school they got accepted/rejected into?

I dont play any sports but am an excelent clarinet player+ i am going 2 participate in the American Math Competion (AMC 8 &10) in time for application

I will… They are pretty good, though I think a main factor was that I do not need aid.

Rejected: Peddie and Groton
Accepted: HADES + Milton

SSAT: I honestly can’t remember, I had a 93 maybe?
GPA: 3.96 after first marking period grade (unweighted). I had a 100% in most classes though, so all the teachers from which I got a recommendation marked me as a top student
I was in an extremely accelerated Algebra 2 (honors) class

I have won a fair number of science fairs

I am pretty awesome at the Viola

Three varsity sports, though I think at BS I will be on only one varsity team and two JVs/Thirds

State of the art (if I can say that) interviews and essays

What else do you want to know? I am reluctant to post my stats, usually, but with this (I guess) you can have an idea.

Hey, I just want to let you know your current “resume” has a lot of nice aspects but it is very typical. To get into these schools you need to have some sports experience. I applied to four schools and got into all of them, including Groton and Lawrenceville, and I would definitely recommend talking with sport coaches etc. just to convey the idea that you are a well rounded person. I also do not think it is necessary to do 80 hrs of community service. To prep schools that just shows that you didn’t do the service because you wanted to, but you did it because you had to which isn’t what they want. I would also like to stress that school work should not be your only thing. I had A’s and a 2300 on my SSAT and I went to a day school that is in the top 20 schools in the US. Yet that is not all I did. I participated in things I wanted to do, and they were not all school related.
