(I listed in the order of my choices)

Which of my top choices do you think I can get in if I apply early?

how come no one respond to this post? or do people still not see it?.. :0

Actually, I think if you apply early you would get in to most of them. Penn and Columbia are your top 2. Between them, I’d say you would have a better shot at Penn Early Decision for two reasons:

(1) You are from Pennsylvania (not a huge help, but still something)
(2) There are more seats available at Penn than Columbia

The only question is what school at Penn would you apply to. Which one is it?

I want to try for Biomedical Engineering program. Or pre-med.
Another question is that what do I have that makes you think I can get in by Early Decision? I feel so empty this year, I know I slacked off a bit and some of the grades had gone down. That greatly lowered my confidence of getting in my top choices.

hey, you go to Marple Newtown High School, correct? You guys kicked but (AGAIN) this year in the Hi Q season.

My school does Hi-Q also, but we lack resources and a good adviser…so we suck at it.

anyway, about your chances: you have a great chance at all of the schools on your list. There’s nothing more to it…great essays/teacher recs. will probably push you over the edge to get accepted.

Oh wow. lol small world.. Where do you go?
eh, I’m still worried about my grades. I probably can pull off a B in AP US.. that course probably shortened my life by 5 years.

Any more suggestions?

sounds on track to me. Personally, I’d go early with a school that offers Action rather than Decision, because then your fate will be sealed.
I’m assuming that you’re Chinese? That’s going to suck, just like being Korean for me sucked.
Your scores look good, keep them up.

There’s one fishy thing:
GPA - Unweighted: 4.05
GPA - Weighted: 3.80

How is your unweighted GPA higher than your weighted? I think the only thing you need to work on is raising that GPA. Good luck!

ah whoops. It’s the other way around. My school uses scale based on 100, so I’m not exactly sure what my GPA is. But my GPA has gotten lower..and lower Junior year :(. Should I be worried about my overall GPA or individual grades for each course? My overall GPA will probably be okay because I have science and math courses to keep them high lol. I’m really worried about the grades right now ugh..

—Bump—

University of Pennsylvania–moderate reach if ED
Columbia University–reach
Johns Hopkins University–moderate reach
Washington University in St. Louis–low reach (presuming you demonstrate interest)
Cornell University–low reach
Duke University–low reach
Northwestern University–high match
University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill–match
Carnegie Mellon University–match
Lehigh University–safety
New York University–low match/safety
Tufts University–high match (again, assuming demonstrated interest)
Vanderbilt University–high match

by the way, I think your grades are fine, but you should dive deeper into 1 or 2 EC’s you’re especially passionate. or maybe just 1 other than Hi-Q.
