---Schools:

---EC's:

Notable Clubs include Phi Theta Kappa (Honors Society), Future Business Leaders of America (Phi Beta Lambda), Accounting and Finance Club, and Adamant (National Marketing Organization)

I was in Associated Student Government for two years, holding officer/senate positions both years (Social Student Involvement Coordinator and later Executive Vice President)

Founder/ President of "Kick It!", a club that combines the unstoppable minds of engineering majors with the ambitious endeavors of Business Students to piece together a business plan by the end of each academic year, to be presented to online crowd funding websites.

Started a nonprofit with a friend to compete with a particular website. Can't say Much more, still under confidentiality agreement.

Interned at a local web design and marketing firm for about a semester, then left for the summer (See Below)

---Other Notable Qualities and Experiences (Essay Material)

Backpacked in Europe for two months during the summer after my first year at CCC. Walked the entire way (Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, Marseille, Venice, then Back up to Prague). Even had to sleep on the streets a couple nights when no lodging was available.

First in my immediate family to attend college. First male within my extended family to attend college. First male out of extended family on my mother's side to graduate high school on the first try (I have about four older male cousins) Only other educated family members that received an education were my godmother (Poly Sci) and female cousin (currently studying law)- both went to Berkeley- I plan to carry the tradition.

Just as my paternal grandparents and my very own mother struggled to make ends meet when they first arrived from Mexico, I too have come to experience my family and I fiscally plummet to the ground. Both parents are now unemployed; we are still struggling. I know how it feels to struggle, and I recognize opportunity when I see it.

Sorry for the long read, guys. What are my chances??

Whats your SAT/ACT score?

I KNEW I FORGOT SOMETHING.

SAT: 1900 ACT: not yet available

Letters of Recommendation: One from the head of the economics dept. and one from an accounting professor

1900 will be a big blow! I would recommend you to retake it because this score will not make you competitive for most of the schools you listed above. Try to score about 2050!
Good luck! :)

Everything but your SAT score and GPA (I’m assuming weighted) is great! If you can get SAT up to 2100ish you should be good!

yes as Others have mentioned, increase your SAT, should be a lot better.

I understand that I need to do “better” on SATS guys… But that isn’t really answering my question. After improving my SATS by 100-200 points, what are my chances of getting into these schools?

Even with a 200 point bump (which is a tall order in itself) your top two categories are going to be reaches as 2100 is pretty much the minimum score for most of them.

So with a 2100, what are my chances?..

If you’re coming from two years at community college your SAT scores won’t matter. So you have a good chance of getting in.

Not even bothering chancing the safeties… you applied to them for a reason. Anyways, as everyone else said increase your SAT score if you can (I suck at the SAT and personally just tried the ACT and faired much better). You have pretty impressive ECs and really interesting experiences. I would think those will benefit you more than one stupid test will hinder you (but it will still hinder you).

UCB (Haas)- Low reach
N.Western (Kellogg)- Reach
U Dubbs (Foster)- Match/High match
NYU (Stern)- High match
Cornell (Dyson)- Reach
UPenn (Wharton)- Reach
UChicago (Booth)- Reach
Northeastern (McKimm)- High match??
UCLA (Bus. econ)- Low reach

Good luck! I hope you get in! Also remember the chances I just gave you are with your current SAT score (I hate those hypothetical scenarios because they never go as stated).

As was pointed out earlier, if you are coming from a community college, your SAT’s are not relevant. So why is everyone asking about them?

Thank you very much! Your response was great appreciated.

youre looking good, man. Keep it up!

I assume you’re Mexican? That should help a lot. I don’t know how the confidentiality agreement is going to work on your application, that might need to be figured out.
For sure retake SAT, maybe try the ACT.

Overall, looks pretty good. Ivies are always a crapshoot, but you are qualified and competitive except for test score (race makes up for that a bit).

Disregarding your SAT score (assuming it is not needed for a CC transfer), here’s my opinion for you:

UCB - Low reach
Northwestern - Low/mid each
U Dubbs - honestly don’t know too much about this school
NYU - High match
Cornell - Reach
UPenn - Reach
UChicago - Reach
Northeastern - Match
UCLA - High match

Kick It! and the nonprofit site with a friend sound like very solid, impressive ECs. Good luck!

Other than raise my SAT scores, what can I do to improve my chances?
