Chance me UC's

Hi! So I’m a high school senior applying to college currently. I just wanted to see if anyone had any insight on UC admissions and to see if I could be a strong applicant!

I’m applying to Berkeley, LA, Irvine, Davis, Santa Barbara, and San Diego. I’m applying as a Neuroscience major to all except Santa Barbara and Irvine. I’m applying as pre-bio to SB and biology to Irvine.

10-12 GPA: 4.36

I’ve taken a total of 13 different AP classes over the course of my high school career, 6 of which I am taking this year.

ACT with writing: 34

Leadership:
President of Model UN (10-12)
Treasurer of Biology Olympiad (11-12)

ECS:
Science Olympiad (11-12)
NHS (10-12)
Freshman Basketball Team (9)
I took the AMC in sophomore and junior year as well and scored in the top 5 at my school in sophomore year

VOLUNTEER:
I have around 100 total hours of community service at a hospital, library, and a few various events such as the break free run.
I had an unpaid summer internship in the mechanical engineering department at UC Davis (I am unsure whether or not I should put this under volunteer or work, since I was not paid).

WORK:
I do paid tutoring in math and science

I know that there are other considerations in admissions, but I just want to see I can be a competitive applicant with these stats! Thanks

That is a good GPA, but what is your UC GPA? UC schools only calculate your sophomore and junior grades in their admissions decisions. If your UC GPA is indeed anywhere near your grades 10-12 collective GPA of a 4.36, then I believe that you are a competitive applicant as your ACT and course load rigor are also good.

Are you applying for FA though, and are you an OOS applicant? Chances may change (only slightly) if you are.

Good luck.

I calculated my a-g courses from sophomore and junior year and I got the same thing as my 10-12 gpa, a 4.36. I’m not 100% sure I did it correctly but I believe it should be around there. Thank you!!

And I am also an in state applicant. I’ve heard that UCs have lower standards for admission for out of state applicants because of the raised tuition, but I’m not positive if that is true.

In-state applicants do get accepted more often that out of state but not sure why
