I’ve just completed my junior year of highschool, and I’m starting to fill out college apps. I’m particularly interested in the UC’s I’ve listed above, particularly SD. I would love some input on my overall chances in being admitted to the above schools based on my profile.
Grades:
I wasn’t qualified for the ELC program, probably because I messed up pretty badly in freshman year (3.29, 3.71 S1 & S2 respectively), but here are my stats.
UC GPA: 4.13
9-11th GPA:
- UW: 3.76
- W: 3.9
Taken 3 APs so far: World (10th) Bio (11th) Chem (11th); 4 in World, expecting 4 in Chem and 5 in Bio
Senior year APs: Phys 1, Psych, Econ, Calc AB
Test scores:
ACT:
30 Comp and 23 Writing (2 tries, exact same scores for both, didn’t study for either, attempting 3rd test and trying to get 32-33)
Subject tests:
Bio and Math II (predicting at least 730 for Bio, 760 for Math II)
Extracurriculars/Activities:
Red Cross (school club): 10th - ongoing (officer for 12th)
Science Research (school club): 11th - ongoing (doing research project internship associated with this club at UCSF and then submitting research paper to enter Intel STS and Google Science fair)
Hospital Volunteer: 11th - ongoing
CSF: 11th-12th/ongoing
Track & field : 10th (might leave out)
Berkeley ATDP Adv. Biotech: Summer '15
Art classes: 2008 to 2015 (not sure if this counts)
Awards:
Honestly this section is very difficult because I cannot really think of any awards that I’ve earned. I was in the honor roll for 11th, but I’m really just saving this as an absolute last resort. I’m hoping to place in one of the science competitions I’m entering after I complete the project mentioned above, but other than that, I don’t know.
With this info, could you guys provide me with some input on my chances on the schools I’ve listed above (Particularly SD) ?
Thanks!
