You’ll be a shoe-in for one of those Liberal Arts degrees that you can’t do much with on their own…
Your GPA is a on the low side but your class rank is high so it sounds like you have tough grading at your school. I think you’re in good shape - the NCSSM Online should help as that shows your motivation. (My daughter was a student in that program a couple years back!)
Being from Wayne county def. helps and that’s a super ACT score. I think you’re in very good shape!
Congrats on all your hard work in high school and good luck!
How many kids from your school are typically accepted from your high school? Your class rank is important in that context. If, say, 50 students are accepted each year (the number doesn’t change wildly, it remains in a certain range), and your rank is in the top 30, you’re probably safe. Outside that, it’s anyone’s guess. There’s no such thing as a “shoo-in”, your numbers are what they are, just write a kickers essay- Good Luck!
Our school is pretty rural, and also the kids are not really motivated per say to pursue “advanced” schools (most apply to ECU/App State/Mt.Olive/UNCW or the community college), but everyone that I know who has applied to UNC has been accepted from my school.
Looks like someone has an inferiority complex because their kid went to NCSU and probably couldn’t get into UNC-CH.
Good Lord, the trash talking by parents on this site is ridiculous!!
@socaldad2002 - AYKM? Trash talking by parents? No wonder the kids are so stressed out, with parents dissing top-80 schools as worthy of nothing but “inferiority complex”! I have twins, both accepted at both UNC and State, the opportunities and the education at both schools are great! And don’t hit me with the “value” of a degree from State v UNC- I know kids from both schools who ended up in great grad schools, or at lucrative jobs, whichever they chose. It’s what they do, once they’re where they are, that matters more. Pretty much the same companies are recruiting from all three schools in that area, and taking top contenders from all three (Duke).

Look I was only defending the OP who wanted to be chanced for UNC and ToddinRaleigh posts this:
“You’ll be a shoe-in for one of those Liberal Arts degrees that you can’t do much with on their own…”
Clearly he has a chip on his shoulder, especially if you read his earlier posts this past year slamming UNC.
IMO, NC state and UNC are both great colleges. No disrespect here. Carry on…
I think that being from a rural part of the state will help you a lot. Good luck!
You have a good shot if you applied EA.
It’s a huge advantage coming from rural county and enrolled in NCSSM online.
You managed to do 12APs and ACT is within the range.
Did you self study for some APs? I would not expect a rural school to offer so many APs, and your class rank/GPA is low in comparison.
